After an accident that was not your fault, you decide who inspects the damage to your vehicle. The other party's insurer may not tell you which assessor to use.

This matters. If the other party's insurer calls you and sends its own assessor, that assessor works for the insurer. Your own independent assessor works for you.

What to do after the accident

1. Take photosThe scene and both vehicles, before anything is moved.
2. Note the detailsNumber plate, name and insurer of the other driver.
3. Sign nothingDo not sign anything at the scene that you do not understand. No admission of fault.
4. Do not repair yetOnly once the damage is documented. After that it can no longer be proven what was broken.
5. Call meI will look at the damage where your vehicle is standing.

What it costs

If the accident was not your fault, the other party's motor liability insurer pays for the expert report. For you it is then free of charge. You pay nothing in advance.

If it is still unclear who was at fault, I will advise you beforehand, free and without obligation. Then you decide.

If you caused the accident yourself, or you need a report for another reason, the cost depends on the scope of the work. We discuss it beforehand, before anything is commissioned.

How it works

You report the damage by phone, WhatsApp or through the form. You can send photos of the damage in advance by WhatsApp.

I inspect your vehicle where it stands: at the accident site, at your home or at the repair shop. You do not have to drive anywhere. An on-site appointment is usually possible on the same day.

The report is completed quickly. I handle the notification to the other party's insurer and settle the account directly with them.

What the report contains

An expert report records what is damaged on the vehicle and what the repair costs. It also covers items that many injured parties do not know about and therefore do not claim:

  • Diminished value: A vehicle that has been in an accident is worth less than one that has not, even after a good repair. The other party has to compensate for that loss.
  • Loss of use: For the time you cannot use your vehicle, you are entitled to money, even without a hire car.
  • Replacement value and residual value: If a repair is no longer worthwhile, these two figures decide how much you receive.

Anyone who settles without an expert report usually gives these items away.
